Rushcliffe Arena, West Bridgford, Nottingham

This project enabled a leading borough council to provide local people with a new leisure facility located in the heart of the West Bridgford community.

The building has been designed to improve the efficiency, quality and delivery of public services and to transform the leisure provision for this part of the borough. In addition to being highly efficient, this great leisure facility includes a large gym and a six lane 25m length pool on the locals’ doorstep.

Energy efficiency was a key design driver - a fabric-first approach has been adopted using PassivHaus principles of exposed thermal mass, including super insulation combined with mixed mode ventilation and a rooftop solar panels.
