Rolls-Royce, Raynesway Development Plan

The purpose of the Raynesway Estate strategy is to support the Rolls-Royce submarine business in delivering best value naval reactor plants.

CPMG Architects, in collaboration with Arup, developed the masterplan for Rolls-Royce’s Raynesway site in Derby, focusing on a comprehensive, 10-year strategy for the future growth and development of the estate. The plan presents three alternative, business-driven scenarios and evaluates their implications for the site's expansion, infrastructure investments, and operational needs. Key recommendations include improved pedestrian movement, enhanced office accommodation, flood resilience measures, and the removal of ageing structures. Designed with security and flexibility in mind, the plan ensures the estate’s continued adaptability to the evolving demands of Rolls-Royce’s nuclear and wider business sectors, while presenting opportunities for further site use and development.
