Our annual charity walk will be making its return this September, with aims to raise £2,500 for CASY.
We are excited to announce that our annual charity walk will be making its return this September, with aims to raise £2,500 for CASY.
Taking place on Saturday 10 September, the walk will start and finish in the Derbyshire village of Baslow, taking a circular route of approximately 29 miles. Those participating will take in superb views of the Peak District as they walk through Curbar Edge, Eyam, Cressbrook Dale, Monsal Dale and Lathkill Dale, before returning to Baslow through the Chatsworth Estate.
CASY provides a confidential counselling service to young people aged between six and 25 years old within Nottinghamshire and Lincolnshire. The charity is dedicated to working towards a vision in which all children and young people in the region have the best possible chance of a mentally and emotionally healthy future. All entry fees and sponsorship money raised for the walk will be donated to the charity to support its important activities.
Having had to put our annual charity walk on hold for the past two years due to the pandemic, we’re so pleased to announce it is back for 2022. The team can’t wait to get out on the hills and make a difference.
We’d originally set out to do this walk in 2020 before the pandemic first delayed and then cancelled our plans. So, we’ve dusted off not just our walking boots, but the original planned route to take on the Charity Challenge 2020 – in 2022.
It’s really important to us to provide support to crucial services like CASY, and post-pandemic we all have a greater understanding of how important mental health support is. We’re very proud to be supporting CASY and its valuable services with this year’s walk, helping the expert team to continue supporting young people in our region.
